Would you outline the power possibilities for the 2020 version?
The 2020 version of the Q50 sees either a twin-turbo 3.0-L V6 with 300-hp and 295 lb-ft torque, or in certain models, with 400-hp and 350 lb-ft torque. The caveat is that the Red Sport 400 model extracts the full 400-hp out of the same engine by utilizing the powers of dual turbo speed sensors and dual water pumps, among other things! Both engine blocks are completely made of aluminum so that the vehicle is more responsive, and when coupled with any of the INFINITI driving technologies like the Dynamic Digital Suspension, Intelligent All-Wheel Drive, and/or the Drive Mode Selector, certainly makes for a lively fun-focused driving sedan! All models involve a 7-speed electronically-controlled automatic transmission with Adaptive Shift Control.
Will you discuss the models individually and what they offer?
The Infiniti Q50 is available in four trim levels: 3.0t Pure, 3.0t Luxe, 3.0t Sport, and Red Sport 400. The 3.0t Pure model permits Apple CarPlay/Android Auto compatibility, 2-Zone Auto Temp Control, 17" aluminum-alloy wheels with all-season performance run-flat tires, 8-way power driver & front-passenger seats, and even steering wheel-mounted controls. The next model is the 3.0t Luxe, with its Textured Aluminum cabin trim, 18" aluminum-alloy wheels, a moonroof that is tinted and has power sliding, as well as the option for INFINITI Navigation that sports features like 3D building graphics & Lane Guidance! The third member of the band is the 3.0t Sport, and it lives up to its name with a Sport-centric front/rear fascia treatment, Bose 16-Speaker Performance Series Audio, 19" Sport-style aluminum-alloy wheels, and heated leather seats! That model also benefits from several Packages contributions, mixing in elements from the Sensory, Essential, and ProASSIST Packages. Then there is the Red Sport 400, which, maybe, needless to say, gets the full benefit of the 400-hp engine, but also boasts components such as its own 19" aluminum-alloy sport wheels, an exclusive-design on its paddle shifters, red contrast stitching on its semi-aniline quilt leather-clad sport seats, and a striking Dark Chrome inflections for its cockpit. And yes, a heated steering wheel comes standard on both these rearing-to-go 3.0t Sport and Red Sport 400 models!
Can you talk about the assistive driving systems within?
If you opt for Intelligent All-Wheel Drive with your Q50, it quietly conforms to varying situations to bring out the best traction and safety results. Ingredients like the throttle, speed, and wheelspin are patrolled by the system. When needed, it can divert up to 50-percent of the total power to the leading wheels for more trustworthy traction. Rear-Wheel Drive automatically becomes the default in general when road conditions are favorable, and that way the Q50 still drives like the sports car it was designed to be. There is also a Dynamic Digital Suspension as an option, which allows the driver to tune the suspension firmness of their choice via a drive mode selector (or the touchscreen). Also helpful is the INFINITI Drive Mode Selector, which puts you in charge of how the Q50 responds to your inputs in terms of performance! One more item that is often missed is that the Q50 also has INFINITIs electable dual occupant memory system. This system remembers your optimal seat, steering wheel, and mirror arrangements as soon as you hit the Push Button Ignition. If you trade off driving with someone else, their settings for those areas can be saved to their own Intelligent Key. It is usually too late to adjust your seat halfway through a fast hairpin-turn, don't miss out on this safety-conscious (but also performance-minded) feature!
Final Thoughts on the 2019 INFINITI Q50
Ok, you are already envisioning yourself sporting the Q50 quickly into the Italian hillsides, but we should mention first that it has all of the contemporary safety features you would expect out of a car of this decade. For example, there is an original safety feature in the form of a front-mounted radar that continually studies the road, watching the pace and range of not only the vehicle in front of your Q50 but also of the one in front of that vehicle! This feature is called Predictive Forward Collision Warning, and it is sure to be a life-saver! Then there is Standard Forward Emergency Braking, available Direct Adaptive Steering which digitally communicates steering information straight to the wheels, available Lane Departure Prevention, and an election for Active Lane Control. On top of all this, the Q50 in 2020 installs an Around View Monitor that uses cameras to see completely around the entire vehicle, then adds in Moving Object Detection within that display (in real-time) to ensure your safety even further! Last but not least is the INFINITI Safety Shield, which is an array of safety features including Intelligent Cruise Control, Distance Control Assist, a novel Back-up Collision Intervention feature that uses both sonar and radar, a Blind Spot Warning, and more!
